Project Management and Logistics

Image
Project management and Logistics Things to consider during project management- Finances - how the budget will be split between groups.  Personnel - what tasks we have to complete and who is going to do it? Research - planning for preproduction. Time - How long things will take you and how to split it evenly. Logistics - Complex process of organising resources for production examples- -Personnel  (Those working with you on the product can have issues between themselves which will need to be sorted- E.G. Conflicting ideas on project, you need to help resolve it.) -Props -Production equipment -Locations  (Scouting for locations, having back ups and booking them) -Transportation  (how will you bring your team to the locations: you could use buses, cars, vans)   - Care on location Call sheets-  -Helps everyone on set know where they're going, what they're doing, when they're doing it. -Its extremely helpful as it c...

working to time scales

Time Scales and Production Schedules Pre production - planning stage Production - making stage (obtaining materials- filming, photographing) Post Production - editing stage What to consider while planning: Task allocation - WHO is suitable for each task (how their skills will link to production, pre production, post production Scheduling - WHEN does each task need to be done and how long will it take to complete.      dependencies - where one task needs to be done before another can be started (E.G. script before a story board, research before designs)       milestones - setting them ensures work is met up to a standard and manages deadlines Resources allocations - WHAT resources people will need such as equipment/ resources for each task. Report Creation - HOW the team completed each task. How well the team have communicated to ensure the production is effective throughout. In the exam we need to think about: Deadlines - you need to esta...

Swot Analyse- A swot analyse is a study undertaken to determine the strength and weaknesses of a product / organisation as well as finding possible opportunities it opens and threats that come with it.  Strengths   No other games in the market like it- niche idea Lot of creative freedom in designing the game  Available on phones / tablets, big market Weaknesses Short time frame to finish the game Lack of other games in market, nothing to base yours off lot of creative freedom- small starting point, more time needed for design/ concept ideas.  Opportunities Creative freedom Gives your designers a new and different project Could make a popular game with nothing like it. could make a collection of games with a similar message if it takes off Threats Time trails may encourage children to run or hurry across roads Lower age range, kids are easily influenced, may take game in the wrong context. Short time to produce gam...

Target Audience

Image
Target Audiences (primary) Target Audience - The type of consumer you're aiming your product at by taking into consideration their demographic. Demographics- what you use to categorise your target audience (age, gender, race, ethnicity and social class) -must be specific with the ages (5-10 not young and don't make a huge gap) -example- BARBIE, targets young white girls in the past even though now there are more races, sizes of barbies, targeting a wider rage of ethnicity. there parents would range from C, B social class -example- BMW, targets older white men. Ethical issues

To The Bone- Ethical Issues-    To the bone is a Netflix original movie depicting Anorexia and other eating disorders shared by the characters such as bulimia and chronic exercise. When i watched this movie I thought it seemed fairly true to form, and doesn't poke fun at the illness as other characters defined by their anorexia in media have before it. The movie doesn't glorify the illness and shows realistic issues that it can cause such as the loss of a child, fainting, and back problems from over exercising. However the film drummed up a lot of controversy as the main character played by Lily Collins shows her methods of not eating, how she checks her weight and stays fit. Many people thought this could have been taken as advice to those suffering with the illness, leading to a petition to get it banned. Obviously this didn't go through and the film remains. The film also got lash back for inaccuracies, saying that every case isn't like this. To which L...

Planning Perfect answers

Cross comparing with the mark scheme to make perfect answer- 1- identify two costs that you may need to consider when developing a new phone app and explain how these costs impact on the project (6) One form of costs could be personnel- paying a graphic designer if no one on your team has the skills to design the app layout. This will take a big chunk out of your budget but will lead to the app looking more professional, so putting aside some of the budget for staff will benefit the project. Paying for copyright  in order to avoid your designs being taken. Though protecting your intellectual property may cost money and take up some time for your apps development, your work will remain safe and protected. 2- identify one act of legislation that is applicable to the creation of a new national newspaper and explains what impact it has (3) One mark for the act of legislation and two marks for an explanation of the impact. Eg.   -Human Rights Act 1998 – impac...
