perfect planning 2-
Planning answers to the second assessment-
1.Explain the client requirements of this brief, outlining
which are explicit, implicit and open to interpretation. (10)
The company explicitly state that the video must contain, shots of the footwear range of camera angles and shot types, must have the name, logo and contact details for Zoo shoes, shots of the target audience wearing the product and at the very least 4 clips of footage. An implicit aspect is that its a promotional video for the new children's shoes. The rest that they have specified is open to interpretation including the age range being 8-14, a variety of camera angels and shots of your choice, music that appeals to the target audience of your choosing and you can choose how long it lasts between 20-40 seconds .
2. What logistical issues can you foresee when creating this
video? (4)
Some logistical issues could be that short length of time to film, meaning the 5 weeks will need to be evenly split up. Getting child actors to be filmed at appropriate times. Location scouting for outside locations of even sets which can be effected by the cost or the weather. Getting hold of the right sized product for each of your actors.
3. What
potential legal issues will need to be addressed? Outline briefly the impact
each one may have on the project and how they might be dealt with. (8)
Having child actors means permission forms need to be signed in order to work with children otherwise they legally can't work, which is key for the project. You also need to make sure that the children aren't working for long hours, this can be decided via contracts with parents and if these aren't signed the kids can't work at all. You need to have permission to use locations and you can get rugs through location release forms from either the private or public owners. You need permission to use the music you put in the advert, therefore you will need to requests rights to use it or you'll get a copy right strike and have the ad taken down.
4. Produce a mind map or mood board
exploring how the age of the target audience will impact the design/content of
the video. (5)

5. Identify two costs associated
with filming the advert for Zoo Shoes and explain how these costs impact on the
project (4)
One cost is transporting cast and crew, especially children as they can’t drive so they may need transport or their parents mileage paid for; you can avoid paying a lot by finding close locations. Another cost is hiring the video equipment which is key for the project so its best to save some of the budget for this.
6. What market research could be done to learn more about Zoo Shoes, and what is one outcome of this market research? (3) You could do market research through watching other shoe ads or even Zoo shoes own ones for some inspiration for the creation of the ad and even copy some existing ideas. You could set up focus groups to have a clear idea of what works and what could be changed.
7. Identify one type of project management tool that you could use to
keep track of the project tasks and explain why it is suitable for this
project. (3)
A gantt chart would help this project as you can set and see your milestones clearly and when things need to be completed in each department, keeping the team up to date and organised.
8. The film needs to be tested before it is sent to the Client for
approval. Outline what type of research this is and how you could go about
completing this research. (3)
You can set up a focus group to see if the children like the advert or the shoes on show, or evening ask parents then ask them questions about the video. We could also send out questionnaires linked to the video to get feedback.
